Uniswap Activity Hits Record High as Weekly Swaps Surge 86%
Uniswap’s record-breaking growth is accelerating, with weekly swaps rising 86% to 40 million as more users joined the protocol. The milestone surpassed the previous record set just one week earlier, indicating sustained demand for Uniswap’s $UNI infrastructure rather than a temporary trading spike.
Unique daily swappers also reached approximately 147,000, showing that broader user participation accompanied the sharp increase in transaction volume.
Uniswap V3 Leads as Multichain Usage Expands
Uniswap V3 continues to process most swaps, although the growing contribution from V4 suggests that users are gradually adopting the protocol’s newer infrastructure.
Activity across Ethereum $ETH, Base, Arbitrum $ARB, and newer deployments also indicates that Uniswap usage is becoming less dependent on a single blockchain network.
Higher Uniswap Activity Drives Fee Growth
The increase in Uniswap trading activity has generated more transactions and higher associated fees, strengthening the protocol’s overall economic performance.
Cumulative fees paid to the Uniswap protocol rose from approximately $17 million in early June to more than $33 million by late August.
However, fee growth was more gradual than the 86% weekly surge in swaps. This suggests that the increase in transaction activity was not matched by an equivalent rise in the value of each trade.
Although more users were trading, they appeared to be making fewer large-position transactions. As a result, the number of trades grew faster than the amount of money flowing through each swap.
Whale Accumulation Supports the Uniswap Rally
Higher protocol activity has strengthened Uniswap’s economic model, while continued accumulation by large holders has provided additional support for $UNI.
Whale accumulation intensified in late May, with Binance’s largest users withdrawing an average of 7,400 $UNI tokens per day. These withdrawals reduced the amount of $UNI immediately available on exchanges.
Accumulation began before $UNI reversed from $2.48 and rallied approximately 122% to $5.14. Rather than selling during the recovery, whales continued moving tokens away from Binance, suggesting that their conviction remained intact as the price climbed.
Monthly withdrawals remain elevated at approximately 5,300 $UNI per day, limiting potential sell-side pressure so far.
Stronger protocol activity could continue supporting demand alongside ongoing whale accumulation. Together, these factors may help extend $UNI’s price recovery toward the $7.80 resistance level.
