TikTok creator @mariotothetop (Mario) posted a viral video alleging that two separate DoorDash drivers stole his food within one hour, and that the platform denied his refund request after crediting only $6 on a nearly $30 order. The Daily Dot could not independently verify the events, the drivers’ identities, or the outcome of the refund dispute; the details below reflect the account Mario shared on TikTok.

First order canceled after driver allegedly takes food

Mario opens the clip by saying he would post it daily until DoorDash responds. “I am pissed off right now. DoorDash got me f-cked up!” he said. He explained that he had placed an order two hours earlier, adding a tip and paying for express delivery.

“Why does my Dasher get to the store to pick up my food and then, all of a sudden after he is in the line waiting for my food, he cancels my order.” According to Mario, the app then showed it was finding a new driver. The replacement driver went to the restaurant and texted him: “Hey, the restaurant is saying that the previous Dasher picked up your order already.” Mario concluded the first driver took the food, canceled the order, and left the second driver to handle the pickup.

Second order marked complete despite cancellation

DoorDash support told Mario to reorder so the new driver could deliver. He placed the order again, and the driver picked up the food and arrived at his apartment complex. “I go and place my order again. My Dasher gets to the restaurant, picks up my food, gets all the way to my apartment. But she goes to the opposite end of the building.”

Mario was waiting outside and texted directions: “Hey, pull out and make a left, I am on this side of the building.” He said the driver pulled out, turned right instead of left, then took another left and ended up down the street—about five minutes away. After several text exchanges, Mario said the driver canceled the order, yet he received an “Order complete” notification.

Refund dispute and partial credit

When Mario contacted support to explain the driver had marked the order complete after stating she would cancel, the app refunded only $6. “My sh-t was almost $30,” he said. Support replied: “There is nothing we could do about this. We’re gonna have to escalate this to our review team.”

About 20 minutes later, Mario received an email: “Hey, we have completed our review, and unfortunately we are going to deny your refund request. So y’ll let these DoorDashers steal my food 2 different times within 1 hour time span and don’t give me my f-cking money back?” He concluded the video: “B-tch, what the f-ck is wrong with ya?”

Commenters react to tipping and express delivery

The video drew thousands of comments. One user wrote: “This is proof tipping doesn’t matter.” Another commented: “i swear DoorDash and ubers [sic] eats needs a class action lawsuit.” A third added: “Never pay express; it’s never express.”
