Bitcoin has traded between $76,962 and $81,281 over the past seven days, while 30-day data shows the cryptocurrency up roughly 26% against the U.S. dollar. August also closed in positive territory.
As market sentiment improves after the previous month’s gloom, analysts, strategists, influencers, venture capitalists and other crypto commentators have issued a range of Bitcoin price predictions during the past two weeks.
Bernstein predicts Bitcoin could reach $125,000
Wall Street research firm Bernstein recently published a forecast for Bitcoin, with lead analyst Gautam Chhugani projecting that the price could reach $125,000 by the end of the year. Chhugani also expects Bitcoin to reach $150,000 by mid-2027, with a potential cycle peak near $300,000.
Bernstein’s forecast is based on a cycle model, a mining-cost multiple and a macro “debasement” trade outlook rather than market sentiment alone.
Standard Chartered keeps $100,000 target in play
On Aug. 21, 2026, Standard Chartered lead analyst Geoff Kendrick said a Bitcoin price of $100,000 in 2026 remains plausible.
“For the first time this year, there is now a risk my end year forecast (of USD100k) is too low,” Kendrick said. He also believes Bitcoin could retest its October 2025 high, which was slightly above $126,000.
Arthur Hayes sees Bitcoin reaching $250,000
BitMEX co-founder and Bitcoin bull Arthur Hayes offered one of the more optimistic forecasts during an Aug. 26 discussion with Anthony Pompliano. Hayes said a year-end price of $126,000 was possible and that $250,000 was “in the cards” because governments will “print early and print often.”
Hayes has long maintained a bullish outlook for $BTC, while the latest U.S. Treasury buyback plan appears to have strengthened his conviction.
Brian Armstrong lowers Bitcoin price target but remains bullish
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently moved away from his previous $1 million Bitcoin price prediction. However, during an Aug. 20 interview with Fox Business, Armstrong said it was “very likely” that Bitcoin would reach $300,000 to $400,000 per unit by 2030.
His forecast appears to be linked to potential momentum from the Clarity Act and broader institutional participation in the market.
Peter Schiff maintains bearish Bitcoin outlook
Gold advocate and economist Peter Schiff has argued for years that Bitcoin will fall back toward $10,000 and eventually reach zero. Although those predictions have not come to pass, Schiff continues to criticize Bitcoin in 2026.
He recently said the cryptocurrency’s rally would be temporary. “Not sure what’s behind today’s sharp MSTR rally, though I suspect short-covering has a lot to do with it. Nonetheless, I stand by my ‘death spiral’ thesis, even if Strategy’s life expectancy has been extended a bit by the temporary bitcoin rally,” Schiff stated on X.
Michaël van de Poppe warns of a possible correction
Michaël van de Poppe, CIO and founder of MN Fund, said on X that Bitcoin could reach $90,000, while cautioning that a correction could still occur during the current bull market.
“I think that we’ll also see a push of bitcoin to at least $82,700, perhaps even $90,000,” he wrote on X on Aug. 27. “Does that rule out a heavy correction in September/October? Definitely not. A standard 20-40% correction does happen in a bull market.”
In another X post, van de Poppe said Bitcoin could enter a consolidated trend for “2-4 months before we’ll break towards all-time highs.”
Mike McGlone sees downside risk toward $10,000
Mike McGlone, Bloomberg Intelligence’s senior commodity strategist, continues to forecast a potential Bitcoin decline to $10,000. He has frequently made that prediction during the $BTC bear market.
After saying on Aug. 13 that his “analysis points to downside risk toward $10,000 unless bitcoin can sustain a move above $69,000,” McGlone became more subdued after Bitcoin moved above that level.
Three days later, he wrote, “Bitcoin showing comfort below $69,000, despite the record-setting stock market, may signal continued reversion toward $10,000.”
Siebert Financial forecasts $175,000 by 2027
Brian Vieten, senior portfolio manager at Siebert Financial, shared an optimistic Bitcoin forecast in a note provided to Bitcoin.com News on Tuesday. Vieten expects Bitcoin to reach $175,000 in 2027.
He believes Bitcoin entered a new price cycle after its June 30 low and argues that the latest rally makes the 80% drawdowns seen during previous bear markets less likely.
“Looking ahead, we think the GENIUS Act’s expected early 2027 implementation marks the next major adoption catalyst,” Vieten explained.
These forecasts highlight how difficult it is to predict Bitcoin’s future price. Some analysts have made accurate calls, while many others have not, regardless of how confident their predictions may sound.
Bitcoin price predictions can help illustrate market expectations, but they should not be treated as certainties. The leading crypto asset is likely to continue surprising both bullish supporters and bearish critics, making patience and independent judgment essential in the volatile cryptocurrency market.
