Salas, who turned 20 in June, is batting .326 with a .949 OPS in 24 games for Triple-A. Earlier this season, he hit .286/.361/.417 with 37 RBIs and 41 runs scored across 72 games at Double-A.
The Padres signed Salas at age 16 after he was ranked as the No. 1 player in the 2023 international class.
Salas Could Make Baseball History
If Salas appears at catcher in a major league game, he would become the youngest catcher to play in the big leagues since Pudge Rodríguez in 1991.
