A fire broke out at the office of Gojek, a ride-hailing start-up, in the Blok M area of Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Indonesia, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 1:16 PM Indonesia Time. Seven fire trucks were deployed to the scene to contain the blaze.
“A total of seven units with 25 personnel were dispatched to the location,” said Syamsul Huda, Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
He stated that his team received the fire report at approximately 1:16 PM WIB. They have since managed to control the fire to prevent it from spreading and are now in the cooling-down process.
“The initial cooling process began at 1:40 PM WIB and is still ongoing,” he explained.
Furthermore, he was unable to confirm the suspected cause of the fire, whether there were any injuries or casualties, or the chronology of the incident.
His team is still carrying out the cooling-down process. Officers are also conducting a sweep to ensure there are no victims.
