Hull City have confirmed that new signing Sorba Thomas was involved in a car crash near the club’s training ground on Friday morning. The 27-year-old winger walked away unharmed from the incident, which occurred on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham at approximately 08:30 BST.

Vehicle Overturns Near Training Facility

Images circulating on social media showed Thomas’s grey Land Rover Defender on its roof with broken windows. Humberside Police reported that emergency services remained at the scene and advised the public to avoid the area while recovery operations took place.

Club Issues Statement on Player Welfare

In an official statement, Hull City said it was “relieved” to hear that its player, who joined the Tigers from Championship side Stoke City earlier this month, was unharmed.

The club added: “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”

Local Residents Describe Scene

A woman who lives at the scene described how the crash woke her up.

“I was laid in bed [and] heard a noise – crash, bang,” she said.

“I got up, come down and the car is in my hedge.”

Road Closure Impacts NHS Worker

An NHS worker who lives on the road said the incident had left him unable to go to work as the road was blocked.

“There will be patients who will miss appointments because of this,” he said.

“It’s one road in and one road out. It was an accident waiting to happen.”
