Giovanni Leoni Expected to Resume Training in Coming Weeks, Reports Say

Giovanni Leoni Could Return for Liverpool After Long Injury Absence

Giovanni Leoni’s wait for a second Liverpool appearance could be nearing its end. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the centre-back may soon be available to play again after spending more than a year out of action.

Leoni suffered a cruciate ligament injury during his Liverpool debut, bringing his first appearance for the Reds to an early end. The injury has kept him away from competitive football for over a year and delayed his opportunity to establish himself at Liverpool.

Cruciate Ligament Injury Delayed Leoni’s Liverpool Progress

The extended absence has limited Giovanni Leoni to a single Liverpool appearance since joining the club. His long recovery period has prevented him from building match fitness and competing regularly for a place in the team.

A potential return would give Leoni the chance to resume his development and begin working toward a more consistent role at Liverpool. However, the available report indicates only that his second appearance could be close, rather than confirming a specific return date or match.

Why This Matters

Giovanni Leoni’s possible return is significant because the defender has been unable to continue his Liverpool career since suffering the cruciate ligament injury on debut. A comeback would mark an important step after more than a year away from competitive football and provide Liverpool with another centre-back option.
