
Recently from House Oversight Committee Documents declassified by the US Congress have linked Jeffrey Epstein’s financial connection to the early Bitcoin scene at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) revealed.
Emails reveal how Epstein’s network and associated donors helped financially support MIT’s Digital Currency Initiative (DCI), which was launched in 2015 when Bitcoin Core developers desperately needed money following the collapse of the Bitcoin Foundation.

The emails show that Joichi Ito, then head of the MIT Media Lab, relied on donations from Epstein to the DCI fast to found. According to Ito’s correspondence, the support enabled MIT to attract key developers, including Wladimir van der Laan and Cory Fields.
Ito thanked Epstein for helping Media Lab “win this round,” referring to securing developers shortly after the Bitcoin Foundation effectively declared itself bankrupt

MIT said that Epstein donated $850,000, but journalist Ronan Farrow later named it die Numberlater from 7.5 million dollars. He added a hidden contribution of around five million that was linked to private equity billionaire Leon Black.

Epstein wrote that he would try to get more “dark money,” suggesting an organized effort to obtain money through the billionaire’s support.

DCI developers later claimed Epstein’s involvement to have known nothing. The previous funding mechanisms at DCI were not very transparent, to say the least. None of the team members knew who was behind the donations
The documents also show on Epstein’s previously unknown Connections to early protagonists of cryptocurrencies. Ememo saidthat Epstein in his Villa in Manhattan with Brock Pierce, known for his early involvement in various projects including Tether talked about Bitcoin hat .
The former was also at the meeting US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers present who was interested in Bitcoin but was afraid of damaging its image in case of one had crashes –
Other documents showthat Epstein attended MIT no less than nine occasions visited passing through side doors and under the code name “Voldemort” had access. This emerges from MIT internal communication.
Epstein’s emails also include communication with Steve Bannon about crypto taxes, distribution and political financing laws in 2018.
After the public revelation in 2019, Ito resigned, and MIT tightened its fundraising policy, mandating that any significant source of funding so must be treatedas if it were going to be made public.
Leon Black resigned from Apollo after it was revealed that he paid Epstein $158 million for financial advice. The documents that have now become known also provide evidence of Leon Black’s position in the Media Lab’s charitable donations and Epstein’s role in coordinating these donations.
