46% of the users surveyed prefer crypto payments due to their speed.
37% of the users surveyed call security risks as the greatest obstacle.
Bitget Walleta leading web3 non-custodial wallet, has its latest Onchain Report Published that examines the most important factors that influence the acceptance of crypto payments in different regions.
The worldwide study based on a survey of 4,599 surveyed showed that 46 % of the users surveyed prefer crypto payments because of speed, while 37 % of security risks list security risks as the main obstacle.
The main reason in Western Europe is the speed and efficiency of crypto transactions that support 37 % of those surveyed. The possibility of transfer funds quickly and without the delays associated with conventional banking systems is an essential advantage, especially in international transactions in which conventional methods can be slow and expensive.
In addition, the study shows that 35 % of the people surveyed prefer cryptocurrencies primarily because of the privacy and anonymity they offer in transactions. This interest coincides with the growing desire for financial discretion, in particular with the increasing spread of digital payment transactions.
Despite the advantages, security risks remain the main obstacle in the region: 39 % of the Western Europeans surveyed fear possible hacks and fraud. In addition, 29 % of the respondents are concerned about the limited acceptance of cryptocurrencies among dealers and service providers, which creates a gap between the growing interest and the practical benefit of digital currencies for everyday transactions.
„Western Europe is one of the world’s largest crypto economies, and this study confirms its attraction for the tangible advantages of crypto, such as speed, efficiency and privacy. However, the study also underlines the need to clear out security concerns and increase acceptance among dealers in order to achieve broad acceptance„, so Alvin Kan, COO von Bitget Wallet. „The market must primarily concentrate on creating trust and user -friendliness in order to bridge the gap between interest and a broad assumption. Thanks to the seamless integration of cryptocurrencies into everyday life, Bitget Wallet wants to make digital finances accessible to billions of people worldwide. ”
In addition to the regional differences, the study also emphasizes generational differences in acceptance. The differences between the generations show that generation X (49 %) attaches importance to speed, while the millennials (42 %) and generation z (39 %) prefer limitless transactions. The security concerns are greatest in generation X (42 %), while generation Z (36 %) reacts more sensitive to transaction fees. While younger users are more willing to integrate cryptocurrencies into their daily financial activities, user -friendliness and the lack of financial infrastructure are still important hurdles for a broader assumption.
