Getting into Magic: The Gathering can feel intimidating if you do not know the rules or how to build a winning deck. (Seriously, some of those picnic tables got heated when I was in undergrad.) But if you want to grab a friend and start playing, the game’s Jumpstart format lets you learn as you go.
Jumpstart boxes are designed for quick, casual matchups. Rather than drafting cards one at a time, each player opens two 20-card boosters, shuffles them together, and has a ready-to-play deck. The box contains 24 boosters in total, and each booster includes the land cards needed to get started.
