For 26 minutes on a Thursday, the internet collectively stopped to watch Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games’ long-awaited next entry in its (in)famous open-world crime series.
Netflix aired an extended video showcasing official GTA 6 gameplay for the first time, following roughly a week of rampant leaks. The reveal offered fans a detailed look at the highly anticipated game after 13 years of waiting and steadily growing hype.
Fans react to the GTA 6 gameplay reveal
After seeing a series of out-of-context clips leaked from an older build, social media could have been expected to tear the game apart. Instead, Rockstar Games appears to have done enough to satisfy its fans, judging by the reaction across social media. Even Major League Baseball weighed in.
Several embedded social media posts were unavailable at the time of publication.
Whether that enthusiasm lasts will become clearer on Nov. 19, when Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to finally launch.
