Below Deck Mediterranean viewers are questioning whether Nathan Gallagher will remain in the show’s current season after an arrest warrant was issued for the reality TV star.
Australian police have warned the public not to approach Gallagher, 28, after he failed to attend court on 1 September in connection with domestic violence charges. Prosecutors said they believe he is currently overseas.
Gallagher was arrested on 27 December last year following allegations that he assaulted a 29-year-old woman. He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, choking without consent and common assault.
The Below Deck Mediterranean star pleaded not guilty and was released on conditional bail. Last month, he issued a statement through Rolling Stone saying he did not think people had ‘heard the full story surrounding what happened’.
After Gallagher failed to appear in court, he was convicted of the three charges in his absence. Judge Lacy said immigration records indicated that Gallagher was overseas and described the offences as ‘very serious, with significant maximum penalties’.
Will Nathan Gallagher be removed from Below Deck Mediterranean?
Gallagher appears in season 11 of Below Deck Mediterranean, which was filmed last year before his initial arrest. Some viewers believe Bravo should remove him from the episodes currently being broadcast.
Bravo, the network behind the Below Deck franchise, has continued posting about the series on social media. Several fans have used the posts to question how the network will respond to Gallagher’s conviction and arrest warrant.
“Domestic violence isn’t a small issue to ignore,” one person wrote while asking why the show had released episodes featuring Gallagher.
Another viewer questioned why Bravo ‘still allow Nathan to be on camera for weeks’ after his arrest last year, while a further comment said there was ‘explaining to do’. Other fans said Bravo should ‘edit Nathan out of this season’.
The episodes of Below Deck Mediterranean currently airing were filmed before Gallagher’s arrest and conviction. However, fans have continued to call on Bravo to remove him from the remaining broadcasts.
Gallagher will not appear in the next season of the reality show. He also faces arrest if he returns to Australia.
New South Wales Police said: “Have you seen Nathan Gallagher? A warrant has been issued for the 28-year-old’s arrest.”
They added: “He is known to frequent the Ermington and Melrose Park areas, and is believed to be offshore.”
Police also said: “Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged not to approach him, but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.”
LADbible Group has contacted Bravo for comment.
