The Rise of the “I’m So In Love With You” Dragon Ball Dance Trend
An unexpected fusion of anime action and melancholic pop music has captured the attention of social media users through the “I’m So In Love With You” Dragon Ball Dance meme. The viral format revolves around pairing energetic, smooth dance animations featuring notable Dragon Ball universe figures—most prominently the stoic Universe 11 warrior Jiren—with the emotional audio track “it’s like i’m not even here” by recording artist Mthu.
The musical backdrop sets a specific tone for the comedic animations, driven by the song’s focal vocal refrain: “I’m so in love with you, You’re so in love with him, I don’t know what to do, Girl, I’m a fool now.”
The sharp contrast between the heartbroken lyrics and the rhythmic, synchronized movements of typically serious anime combatants has fueled the humor, quickly establishing the format as a staple meme format across short-form video feeds.
Creative Origins and Viral Spread Across Social Media
The creative momentum behind the visual component of the trend is largely credited to TikTok creator @dblgiuzman, who produced the distinctive dancing animations featuring Jiren and other franchise figures. The initial spark of the phenomenon began circulating online in late September 2026 before gaining significant virality over the following weeks.
As the trend matured throughout October 2026, the broader online community began adapting the concept. Creators expanded the scope of the meme by syncing various other animated clips of Dragon Ball characters dancing to Mthu’s track, helping the format diversify and maintain its presence across the platform’s algorithm.
Why This Matters

By reimagining notoriously serious anime characters like Jiren in playful, dance-oriented contexts, digital animators such as @dblgiuzman are able to generate widespread social engagement while concurrently driving audio discovery for artists like Mthu.
