No. 10 Texas A&M Hosts Arizona State in Patriotic ‘Red, White and Blue’ Showdown at Kyle Field
The 10th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies welcome the Arizona State Sun Devils to Kyle Field this Saturday for an 11 a.m. kickoff on ABC. The matchup carries special significance as the program revives its “Red, White and Blue” game tradition for the first time since 2021, coinciding with America’s 250th celebration and the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Stadium-Wide Tribute Honors Service and Sacrifice
In a unique twist on the traditional “striping the stadium” concept, Texas A&M has assigned specific colors to each deck of Kyle Field to create a living American flag. The third deck will wear red, the second deck white, and the first deck blue. The coordinated effort aims to honor those who have served the country, remember the lives lost on September 11, and celebrate the spirit of service and leadership that defines the nation.
Rare Intersection Between Former Conference Foes
Saturday’s contest marks only the second meeting between the two programs and the first ever played on either school’s campus. Their previous encounter occurred on September 5, 2015, at NRG Stadium in Houston, where the Aggies pulled off a 38-17 upset over the then-15th-ranked Sun Devils.
Arizona State becomes the first Big 12 opponent to visit Kyle Field since Texas A&M’s final season in the conference in 2011. At that time, the Sun Devils were still competing in the Pac-12. Since joining the SEC, the Aggies hold a 3-2 record against Big 12 opposition, with all five matchups taking place in bowl games.
