Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was arrested early Sunday on suspected drunken driving charges, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Allen, 34, faces preliminary misdemeanor charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (OVWI) and OVWI endangering a person.
Keenan Allen arrested in downtown Indianapolis
Police said officers approached Allen’s vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. ET after finding it parked in a no-parking zone in downtown Indianapolis. Allen showed signs of intoxication,
according to police, and officers arrested him following further investigation.
Marion County, Indiana, Sheriff records show that Allen was released at 3:49 p.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16.

the Colts said in a statement. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.
Allen’s Colts contract and NFL career
Allen joined the Colts earlier this month on a one-year contract. The 14-year veteran played briefly in Saturday’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions, recording one catch for 24 yards.
A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Allen had 81 receptions for 777 yards last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He spent his first 11 NFL seasons with the Chargers before being traded to the Chicago Bears in 2024 following a contract dispute.
