Jenna Brandt’s Iowa Roots and Athletic Foundation
Born on October 26, 1999, Brandt grew up in Sumner, Iowa. She established herself as a standout athlete at Sumner-Fredericksburg High School, where volleyball was her primary sport. She played all four years and served as team captain twice, also competing in track and field. After graduating in 2018, she took her talents to Iowa State University to play for the Cyclones volleyball program.
College Sweethearts at Iowa State
Brandt and Purdy crossed paths as students at Iowa State. While Purdy launched his collegiate football career with the Cyclones football team, Brandt studied kinesiology and played three seasons for the volleyball program. Her tenure included opportunities to participate in USA Volleyball tryouts and an international trip to South America for matches against foreign competition. In late 2020, Brandt announced via Instagram her decision to transfer to the University of Northern Iowa, where she completed her collegiate playing career with the Panthers in 2022.
Going Public in 2022
The couple made their relationship public in November 2022. By that time, Purdy had already begun making waves in the NFL after the 49ers selected him with the final pick of the 2022 draft. Purdy proposed in July 2023 during a getaway in St. Cloud, Florida. Both celebrated the engagement online, expressing excitement for their next chapter. They officially tied the knot on March 9, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. According to Southern Bride, Brandt wore a strapless mermaid-style gown for the ceremony.
Welcoming Daughter Millie Joleen in 2025
The couple’s family grew in July 2025 with the arrival of their first child. Purdy and Brandt announced the birth of their daughter, Millie Joleen, through a joint social media post that included the first photos of their new family of three.
