The Arizona Cardinals have made another trade, acquiring Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Hunter Long after sending running back Corey Kiner to the New England Patriots.
NFL Network reporters Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport reported the trade. The terms were not immediately disclosed.
Hunter Long brings NFL experience to Cardinals
Long is entering his sixth NFL season. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and he spent his first two seasons with the team before joining the Los Angeles Rams in 2023. He crossed paths with Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur, who served as the Rams’ offensive coordinator during both of Long’s seasons in Los Angeles.
Long recorded 12 receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns with the Jaguars last season. He is under contract through 2026 and is scheduled to earn $2 million in salary, including $1 million guaranteed.
The tight end has played all 17 games in a season once, doing so in 2024.
With Tip Reiman expected to begin the season on the reserve/PUP list, Long gives Arizona an experienced blocking tight end as the Cardinals prepare for the 2025 season.
