Manager Behavior Described as Unpredictable

Jamie opens the video by calling the Victoria’s Secret position “the worst job she had ever had.” While her manager initially seemed friendly, Jamie describes a pattern of erratic behavior—appearing supportive one moment and angry the next. She hoped an older, more experienced supervisor would provide mentorship, but instead encountered a lack of structured training that led to multiple misunderstandings.

Lack of Training Leads to Early Conflict

Without proper onboarding, Jamie made several mistakes. In one instance, she left her assigned section to help a customer locate an item in another area. Her manager reportedly reprimanded her, stating she was required to remain in her designated zone at all times.

Missed Break and Extended Shift Without Notice

During a subsequent opening shift, Jamie was moved from the register to the front floor section when traffic increased. She realized she had not been informed when to take her break. Because store policy prohibited phones on the floor, she had no way to check the time. After noticing coworkers who clocked in later leaving for breaks, she asked a departing colleague for the time—it was 5:30 p.m., though her shift was scheduled to end at 2 p.m.

Jamie says her manager had not provided a break and kept her working more than three hours past her scheduled departure. When Jamie raised the issue, the manager responded that she should have spoken up earlier. Jamie maintains she had no access to a clock.

Allergy Attack and Headset Confrontation Prompt Resignation

The breaking point came during her next shift. Jamie experienced an allergy attack and attempted to notify her manager via the store headset that she was stepping away to blow her nose. She says the headset malfunctioned. Shortly after she left the floor, the manager began yelling at her over the headset—both about leaving without clear communication and a separate unrelated issue.

Jamie quit that same day and returned to her previous employer.

The video resonated with other retail employees, who flooded the comments with their own stories of difficult managers and inadequate training. The conversation highlights ongoing concerns about workplace communication, break compliance, and supervisory consistency in retail environments.
