Film director and producer McG, along with comedian Kevin Hart, have been spotted at Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck, New Jersey, suggesting the popular market is serving as a filming location for an upcoming Netflix spy comedy.
Social Media Clues Point to Production Activity
On September 1, McG — born Joseph McGinty Nichol and known for directing Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation — posted an Instagram photo showing himself beside a cart displaying bagged breads and rolls. The cart featured a sign reading “Dough-Lightful” and displayed an altered version of the Delicious Orchards Market logo, showing a single smiling apple instead of the usual pair of apples beneath apple trees. The setting appears to be the market’s produce section. McG captioned the image: “When the fit matches the set.”
According to IMDb, McG is currently producing an untitled spy comedy for Netflix starring Kevin Hart and Henry Cavill. Facebook users also reported seeing Hart at Delicious Orchards this week. On Wednesday morning, Hart posted an Instagram story promoting his “Kevin Hart Golfs” YouTube channel from what looks like the market’s outdoor pick-up window.
Market Closure Sparks Speculation
Delicious Orchards fueled mystery when it announced on social media that it would be closed September 1 through September 3. In a Facebook video, Michael McDonald, vice president at Delicious Orchards, said he could not divulge details. “Rules. Not supposed to say,” he said. “I promise you, this is a good thing.” The market is scheduled to reopen Friday, September 4.
Jersey Shore Sees Surge in Filming Activity
Hart is not the only Hollywood star spotted at the Jersey Shore recently. Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, and Maria Bello were seen filming scenes for Grown Ups 3 at Keansburg Amusement Park, according to New Jersey Monthly Magazine. Social media posts also reported that co-star Rob Schneider visited Keyport Fishery on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, filming continues at Bell Works in Holmdel for an unnamed project, though most indicators suggest it is a new season of the Apple TV+ series Severance. The show has previously filmed at the building, which serves as the headquarters for the series’ fictional corporation, Lumon Industries.
Netflix Studio Expansion on the Horizon
More film and television productions could soon arrive in the region. Netflix is converting part of the former Fort Monmouth into a movie studio and expects to begin filming there by the end of summer 2027.
