Isack Hadjar to Miss Italian Grand Prix as Liam Lawson Returns to Red Bull

Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza as he continues to recover from a wrist injury sustained during Formula 1’s summer break. Liam Lawson will once again replace him at Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda returns to the Racing Bulls seat.

Hadjar fractured his wrist during a boxing session over the summer break, forcing him to miss the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Racing Bulls regular Lawson deputised for the French driver in the Red Bull RB22, while reserve driver Tsunoda was recalled to fill Lawson’s vacant VCARB 03 seat alongside Arvid Lindblad.

Red Bull had hoped the 21-year-old Hadjar would be fit to return at Monza but decided against exposing him to unnecessary risk while he continues his recovery.

Lawson and Tsunoda retain their Monza seats

Both Red Bull-owned teams have confirmed unchanged driver line-ups for the Italian Grand Prix.

Lawson and Tsunoda both impressed in their stand-in roles in the Netherlands. Lawson drove his Red Bull from eighth on the grid to seventh at the finish, while Tsunoda narrowly missed out on points in 11th place. Both drivers also remained close to their respective team-mates on one-lap pace.
