Since entering the WNBA in 2024, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have continued to rewrite the league’s record books.
Clark set a new rookie-season record with 337 assists, only for that mark to be surpassed the following year with 357. She also established the WNBA record for assists in a single game with 19.
Reese, meanwhile, is thriving after being traded to Atlanta this season. She has broken the WNBA single-season record for double-doubles, recording 29 so far.
Angel Reese continues to raise the rebounding standard
Reese has also rewritten the league’s single-game and single-season rebounding records. She pulled down 26 rebounds in one game and has collected 485 total rebounds this season.
With the regular season still ongoing, Reese is aiming to add to that total and become the first player in WNBA history to record 500 rebounds in a single season.
Reese matches Clark with a second consecutive weekly honor
Both of Reese’s historic rebounding milestones came last week, helping her earn Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. It was the fourth time she has received the award during her professional career.
During the dominant stretch, Reese averaged 14.0 points, 17.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
The latest honor places Reese alongside Clark as the only players in the WNBA to win back-to-back Player of the Week awards this season.
The two stars are now preparing to join forces as teammates for the United States at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin. They will then return to WNBA action, with Atlanta and Indiana projected to meet in a high-profile playoff series.
Both teams are competing to secure the fourth and fifth seeds in the standings, setting up what could become the most-watched postseason series in WNBA history.
