A European TikTok creator’s tour of Walmart has gone viral after he reacted to the unusually large sizes of common American grocery products, including ground beef, pizza, bread, pickles and milk.
The video from @404_sag had more than 620,000 views and 4,100 comments at the time of publication. In it, the creator said Walmart has become a regular stop whenever he travels in the United States.
“One of the most touristical attractions in the United States is the Walmart,”
He lifted a package of ground beef and compared its size with his hand.
“This is bigger than my future,”
He then pointed to a nearby pizza box, which weighed 1.26 kilograms.
The creator also examined a loaf of bread and reacted to its long ingredient list. He said he was surprised by the number of additives compared with products he typically sees in Europe. A large container of pickles prompted a similar reaction, with the creator joking that its size and list of ingredients would likely not be permitted under European food regulations.
In the energy drink aisle, he looked at Walmart’s selection of Monster Energy products, including a white can and a sugar-free option he said were unfamiliar to him. A blue drink particularly caught his attention because he said he had never seen it in Europe.
He also picked up a one-gallon container of milk and told viewers it held about 3.8 liters.
“I like milk, but,”
he said, trailing off as he held the container up to show its size.
Viewers compare American and European supermarkets
Several viewers joked about other American retailers, while others compared the Walmart experience with grocery shopping in Europe. One commenter referenced Costco, writing:
“maybe we shouldn’t tell him about Costco.”
Another viewer asked for a similar tour of European grocery stores.
“I need a tour of a European grocery store ASAP.”
A third commenter described supermarkets in parts of Europe that require shoppers to have a membership, writing:
“That’s like those supermarkets here in Europe where you need a membership card just to buy groceries because you’re a shop or restaurant owner.”
Another viewer questioned how anyone could fit the large milk container in a refrigerator.
“Where do you even fit 3.7L of milk. My fridge door can fit 1L square cartons, struggling with 2L milk bottles.”
The Daily Dot was unable to independently verify the Walmart location shown in the video or the creator’s country of origin. The story is based on information shared by @404_sag on TikTok.
