A McDonald’s manager documented her first day back at work after transferring to a new location, describing the fast-food restaurant as “paradise” in a TikTok video.

The video from @mercedesctamayo had received just over 70,000 views at the time of publication. In the clip, she told followers how excited she was to return to her 9-to-5 shift on a Monday morning, saying she never thought she would feel like saying “Happy Monday” again.

McDonald’s manager celebrates her return

Although the manager described her schedule as 9 to 5, an on-screen caption showed her hours as 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. She also explained that she had moved from a standalone McDonald’s to a restaurant located inside a gas station.

That change did not dampen her enthusiasm. She highlighted the excitement of wearing the iconic manager’s hat, which is given only to employees, and texted her supervisor to say she had arrived before finishing her preparations for the day.

After applying perfume, putting on lip gloss and checking her appearance in the mirror, she was ready to leave with her pink bag. She told viewers, “Fast food has my heart, McDonald’s has my heart; so I’m really happy to be back.”

Before entering the restaurant for her long shift, she added, “Welcome to paradise.”

Later, the TikToker posted an update about her first day back at work.

She said the day had been good and productive, and that the shift seemed to pass quickly. She also described the workplace as filled with positive energy.

The manager praised her general managers and colleagues, saying they were all very kind. Reflecting on her return, she advised followers, “Honestly, when you know you’re supposed to be somewhere, stay there.”

Because it was only her first day back, she said she was looking forward to what came next and hinted that she would continue sharing updates about her life as a McDonald’s manager. She also posted a follow-up video showing her commute home.
