Binance Ends BounceBit Mainnet Support After Chain Shutdown

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance will end mainnet support for BounceBit (BB) after the BounceBit Chain was permanently shut down following a hacking attack. Binance will continue supporting BB deposits and withdrawals through the $BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network.

BB Mainnet Deposits and Withdrawals Suspended

According to Binance, BB deposits and withdrawals on the BounceBit mainnet were suspended on August 20, 2026, at 05:00. Deposits and withdrawals through the $BNB Smart Chain are scheduled to reopen on September 1, 2026, at 10:00, allowing users to transfer their existing assets to the new network.

BounceBit Token Migration to BEP20

As part of the token transformation, BounceBit (BB) will migrate from its mainnet to the $BNB Smart Chain at a 1:1 ratio. This means users’ BB holdings will not change as a result of the migration. Future transactions will use the new BB token’s smart contract, which follows the BEP20 standard.

Binance said deposits and withdrawals on the BounceBit mainnet will no longer be supported. However, BB spot, margin and futures trading services, along with Binance Earn services, will not be affected during the contract transition.

The exchange will manage the technical procedures required for the conversion, meaning users will not need to manually complete the token migration.

BounceBit Chain Shutdown Follows Security Incident

Binance’s statement did not provide full details about the hack that led to the shutdown of the BounceBit Chain. The permanent termination of the project’s mainnet represents a major change for the BounceBit ecosystem following the security incident.

Moving BB support to the BEP20 network is intended to keep the token available through $BNB Smart Chain infrastructure. Users should select the correct network when making deposits or withdrawals after services reopen on September 1, 2026. The BounceBit mainnet will no longer be supported.

The transition moves the BounceBit ecosystem to a new technical infrastructure while preserving existing BB trading services on Binance, an important consideration for investors.
