First Alert Days are in effect across the Phoenix Valley from Saturday evening through Monday as active weather brings storm chances, blowing dust and a sharp drop in temperatures.
Storm chances and Flood Watch for Phoenix Valley
An outflow boundary pushed blowing dust through the Phoenix metro area around 9:15 p.m. Saturday. A Flood Watch began at 5 p.m. Saturday and remains in effect until 5 a.m. Sunday.
Rain may miss some parts of the Valley, but isolated areas—particularly the higher terrain east of Phoenix—could receive between 0.50″ and 1.0″ of rainfall.
After the Flood Watch expires early Sunday morning, isolated showers and thunderstorms will remain possible. Late Sunday morning should be dry for most areas, but storm chances will increase from 20% during the day to 40% Sunday night.
The 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms will continue through Monday evening.
Phoenix temperatures expected to fall
Relief from the extreme heat is also on the way. After temperatures reached 113°F so far Saturday, highs are expected to fall to 106°F on Sunday and 100°F on Monday.
High temperatures should remain between 102°F and 104°F on Tuesday and Wednesday before rising to around 105°F late next week.
