The Los Angeles Chargers do not have a punter on their initial 53-man roster after releasing JK Scott on Sunday.
Scott spent the past four seasons with the Chargers and could return if the AFC West club makes further roster moves. However, the team’s plans at punter remain unclear. Running back Jaret Patterson was also released.
Chargers roster moves
Los Angeles placed fullback/defensive lineman Scott Matlock and offensive lineman Branson Taylor on injured reserve with the designation to return. The team also moved offensive tackle Isaiah World to the reserve/non-football injury list.
The Chargers waived wide receivers Sincere Brown, Dalevon Campbell, Liam Clifford, JaQuae Jackson, Gary Jennings and Devonte Ross; linebackers Kyle Kennard, Lander Barton, Andre Carter, Junior Colson, Emany Johnson, Garmon Randolph and Nadame Tucker; safeties Noah Avinger, Devin Grant and Myles Purchase; defensive linemen Jahmeer Carter, Jacobian Guillory and Terry Webb; tight ends Jerand Bradley, Johnny Pascuzzi and Evan Svoboda; cornerbacks Nikko Reed, Eric Rogers and Isas Waxter; running backs Gregory Desrosiers and Amar Johnson; long snapper Peter Bowden; center Josh Kaltenberger; quarterback DJ Uiagalelei; and offensive tackle Laekin Vakalahi.
