On October 29, Kumamoto Prefecture, the Prefectural Tourism Federation, and Nippon Travel Agency will hold a symposium, “Go Green Project in Kumamoto,” at Kumamoto Castle Hall in Kumamoto City to consider responsible tourism for the creative reconstruction of disaster-stricken tourist areas. Deputy Governor Takashi Kimura gave a lecture on creative reconstruction of the prefecture. Share advanced cases and disseminate information for developing new tourism programs that consider the natural environment and contribute to the local economy.
A dialogue between Aso Mayor Yoshioki Sato and Nissan Motor Managing Executive Officer Masaaki Kanda on “Sustainable tourism aimed at national parks” and a lecture by Taku Yamada, CEO of Chura-Chikyu Co., Ltd. were also held. As “Reconstruction of Tourism Considered by High School Students in Kumamoto Prefecture”, tourism programs will be developed by Kumamoto Municipal Hisyukan High School and Hitoyoshi/Kuma area, and Kumamoto Municipal Chiharadai High School and Aso area.
Applications for participation are accepted on the symposium website and by e-mail. With 200 applicants, the deadline is October 14th.
