Hit by COVID, Abalos didn't show up at the LEDAC meeting

MANILA, Philippines – DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos made no personal appearance at the first Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. under his administration.

In a text message, Abalos said that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Abalos said, it was last night, October 9 at 9:12 in the evening, when the result of his RT-PCR came, so he said he did not go to the LEDAC meeting in Malakanyang today, October 10.

“I am currently at home in isolation and working remotely while strictly following recommended protocols, including health and safety procedures,” according to Abalos in a letter.

“I am grateful to have been fully vaccinated with booster. I am asymptomatic and feeling well as of the moment,” wika pa nito.

Meanwhile, Abalos instructed the Philippine National Police (PNP) to immediately do a contact tracing to inform his direct contacts including those who attended the press conference on Sunday at Camp Crame of his condition.

“I am also humbly appealing to everyone who I came across over the past two days to monitor yourselves for COVID-19 symptoms and promptly get tested and isolate away from others once symptoms develop,” dagdag na pahayag nito. Chris Joseph
