MANILA, Philippines – An unidentified man who was said to be a snatcher was killed instantly after running over and under a passenger bus while fleeing to the Main Avenue Busway Station this afternoon, October 10 in Quezon City.
The injured man is described as 35-40 years old, 5’3 tall, medium build, wearing a blue tshirt and black jogger pants.
The driver of the Golden Dragon Passenger Bus (NDO-2907), Guillermo Sumadilla Labor, 45 years old, resident of Caypombo, Sta., was immediately arrested. Maria, Bulacan.
In the investigation by PCpl Reinelle De Las Alas of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Sector 4, around 12:40 in the afternoon when the accident occurred at EDSA Santolan Flyover Southbound, Brgy. New Society Crame, QC
It was said that the bus driver was traveling in the southbound lane of EDSA (carousel lane) going to Ortigas Avenue, when the man suddenly crossed causing him to run over and go under the vehicle.
It is said that the man stole from a taxi outside the said station and suddenly crossed the EDSA Busway barrier to escape but was hit by an oncoming bus and his head got stuck in the tire resulting in his immediate death. Jan Sinocruz
