MANILA, Philippines – The country recorded 2,197 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest report of the Department of Health this Saturday, October 8.
Because of this, the total number of cases of the disease has risen to 3,965,865 while the number of active cases is 27,065.
This is the third day in a row that the country has recorded more than 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 but it is lower than the 2,409 cases recorded on Friday.
The National Capital Region (NCR) remains the highest number of new cases in the past 14 days at 12,587 followed by Calabarzon at 5,331 new cases of the disease and Central Luzon at 2,811 new cases.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased to 63,230 while the number of recoveries increased to 3,875,570. RNT/JGC
