MANILA, Philippines- Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista this Friday appointed the board member of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) as officer-in-charge after resigning as its chairperson for a position in the Office of the Press Secretary.
In his Special Order No. 2022-226, Bautista named Riza Marie Paches as OIC of the LTFRB.
“She shall perform and discharge all the functions and responsibilities pertaining to [the] position, and be entitled to all benefits and allowances authorized therefor, except the basic salary, subject to applicable budgeting, accounting, and auditing laws, rules, and regulations,” pahayag ng Transportation chief.
Atty stepped down. Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil as LTFRB chairperson this Friday and accepted the “offer to help in the Office of the Press Secretary as its Undersecretary and OIC.”
Paches is a licensed civil engineer and environmental planner with over 25 years of experience in public service, particularly in development planning, transportation, and project management.
He worked in the City Planning and Development Office, Office of the Building Official, and also headed the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office of General Santos City.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte appointed him in 2017 as the director for the infrastructure cluster under the former Office of the Cabinet Secretary. RNT/SA
