(NewsNation) — More than 30 million Americans are believed to have long-standing COVID-19, a little-known and little-studied after-effect of the COVID-19 virus, according to Chris Cuomo of NewsNation.
Dr. William Li said research on long-standing COVID has shown an increased risk of diabetes in children, heart problems for middle-aged people and anxiety, among other symptoms, including the onset of Alzheimer’s disease for people over 65.
“It’s a mysterious condition that has more than 100 different symptoms, we don’t even have a good definition of it,” Li said on NewsNation’s “CUOMO.” “However, it qualifies you for the Americans with Disabilities Act, so it’s crippling.”
Li’s full interview can be seen in the video above.
