MANILA, Philippines- House Speaker Martin Romualdez defended his trip to Singapore with President Bongbong Marcos where they attended the F1 Grand Prix international event.
According to Romualdez, they went to Singapore with an invitation.
“There was an official invitation by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong,” said Romualdez when interviewed by the media at the Chamber.
Romualdez boasted that their welcoming of the invitation brought something good.
“I think it’s always a good idea to honor that invitation and to engage further not just Singapore, but the countries in the region— not only the governments, but of course the business communities in the region,” paliwanag ni Romualdez.
He added that since President Marcos took office, the country’s relationship with the international business community has grown stronger.
“I think he’s done very well. They now know—our friends in the region know— that the Philippines is open for business and that the Marcos administration, his administration is ushering in a whole new environment for business and investments and that would augur well for the economy, especially during these times,” pagtatapos pa ni Romualdez.
