LTFRB on PUVs: Special travel permit to Undas now available

MANILA, Philippines – Operators and drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) can get a special permit to travel special routes during ‘Undas,’ or All Saints’ Day.

This is also in preparation for the expected influx of passengers going home to their respective provinces.

On Facebook, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said that interested PUV operators can visit any LTFRB office and bring the OR/CR of their PUV, a copy of their personal passenger insurance policy, and franchise verification.

“PUV operators are encouraged to apply early to obtain their Special Permit immediately and prepare in advance for their trip to Undas,” LTFRB said.

At LTFRB offices, applicants can go to Window 6 or Technical Division for payment assessment, then go to Door B for payment, and to Window 8 to submit four copies of their application for a special permit along with other documentary requirements.

“After a few days or before October 28th, return to the LTFRB office and go straight to the Information Systems Management Division (ISMD) to get the Special Permit,” the notice added.

It reminded PUV drivers and operators to always follow its regulations and policies or face possible fines and penalties as stated in their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC), special permit, and Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01. RNA
