MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. see Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy.
Marcos administered the oath of office of Uy this Thursday in Malacañang.
Uy was one of the officials bypassed by the Commission on Appointments when the House adjourned for a five-week recess. Ten more Cabinet members were also reappointed by the President.
The DICT chief said he will focus on providing internet connectivity to remote areas in the country to make medical services accessible and improve the education system.
Uy also served as chairman of the former Commission on Information and Communications Technology under the administration of former President Benigno Aquino III. RNT/SA
