Another migrant bus arrives at VP Harris' residence

(NewsNation) — At least one migrant bus arrives outside the Vice President Kamala Harris’ Washington, DC, residence before dawn on Thursday morning, a source confirmed to NewsNation.

This is another round of migrants who have been take the bus from the southern border to the Harris residence, located atop a hill in the 72-acre US Naval Observatory complex. This is the official residence of the vice president.

Two buses of migrants from Texas being transported to residence last month.

The migrants transported by bus are asylum seekers who are now allowed to stay in the United States by U.S. Customs and Border Protection until their petition to stay in the country goes through the system. The migrants have escalated the governor’s feud and brought a humanitarian crisis to several parts of the country.

Buses began in the spring when Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced plans to send migrant buses to Pasthington, DC., and New York City in response to President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw emergency health care in the pandemic era limiting the number of incoming migrants. Abbott recently started transporting migrants to Chicago.

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser last month declared as public emergency on the migrant bus. The move will help “determine the needs of the people who come” in the city, according to the mayor.
