More MMDA enforcers will be deployed against traffic in the closure of Meralco Ave

MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said this Wednesday that they have added enforcers to manage the slight increase in traffic following the closure of a portion of Meralco Avenue in Pasig City.

MMDA spokesperson Mel Carunungan said that among the roads with a slight increase in traffic are Captain Henry Javier Street and the intersection with Camino Verde Road.

“What our director of the Traffic Engineering Center saw after a whole day of implementing the new traffic scheme in this area is that there is only a slight increase in Captain Henry Javier Street and this is the Camino Verde intersection,” he said.

“What we did [MMDA Traffic Engineering Center] director Noemi Recio has deployed additional traffic enforcers to help in this area,” he added.

The MMDA also displayed informational and directional signs to help motorists.

The MMDA is also set to add an alternative route if necessary during sizzling heavy traffic.

After two to three weeks, Carunungan said the MMDA, Department of Transportation, and concerned local government units will meet and review the situation in the area for possible adjustments. RNA
