TACLOBAN CITY — A 32-year-old senior high school teacher died after being stabbed by a 19-year-old student in the town of Basey, Samar this Monday.
George Lauron, a Science teacher at Basey National High School, died of a stab wound to the chest, according to Police Executive Master Sergeant Gerry Vargas.
The suspect was identified as Kurt Lancanan, who immediately surrendered to police.
Based on the investigation, Lauron, Lancanan, and others were drinking at the victim’s boarding house at around 2 in the morning.
“But in the course of their drinking spree, the two had a heated argument which prompted the suspect to stab the victim in his chest using a knife,” paglalahad ni Vargas.
Lancanan voluntarily surrendered to the police 30 minutes after the crime.
The suspect is detained at the police station pending the filing of a murder case against him by the prosecutor’s office in Basey. RNT/SA
