MANILA, Philippines- One construction worker was killed while 10 were injured after the scaffolding fell at the construction site this morning in Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director PBGEN Nicolas Torre III identified the deceased as Francis Anzures, 45, married, native of Leyte, resident of Brgy Baesa QC
The injured were identified as Jerick Medino, 20, Renato Gallo, 49, Mark Dave Asis, 21, Reynante Mandak, 50, Junrey Acoymo, 38, Jayson Rebalga, 27, Jerald Silvio, 20, Jorie Modesto, 40, and Emmil Jay Medino, 25, and Rainwick Rooster,
Based on the report of La Loma Police Station 1, it was past 9 in the morning when the incident occurred at No. 32 Sto Cristo Street Brgy Balingasa, QC
It appears that the victims were in the midst of working on a building that was being constructed when suddenly the scaffolding collapsed and Anzures was the one who was hit and crushed.
The Barangay Health Workers immediately responded to the area and loaded the victims into the ambulance and then took them to the Quezon City General Hospital.
Around 9:40 in the morning when Anzures was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Alfred Magpantay because of the severe damage to his body.
The police are continuing to investigate whether there was negligence in the accident. Jan Sinocruz
