On October 11th, the Japan Tourism Agency will launch the “One more night on weekdays” campaign to promote weekday travel in line with the start of the “National Travel Assistance” that supports discounts on domestic travel. We will encourage tourism-related business operators to create products, add a common campaign logo to products that match the purpose, and introduce them on a special website established by the Japan Tourism Agency.
Distributing travel demand on weekdays and promoting leveling has been a challenge in revitalizing the domestic travel market and improving productivity in the tourism industry. Although there are no government-funded discount support measures for products that fall under the campaign, travel operators, lodging operators, transportation operators, etc. will be encouraged to participate by appealing for support.
The requirements for participating in the campaign will be announced in the future. The implementation period for the time being is scheduled to be until the end of FY2023.
