MANILA, Philippines- A pregnant so-called high-value target (HVT) was arrested and more than P.5 million worth of shabu was confiscated in a coordinated buy-bust operation by the joint forces of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) and the District Mobile Force. Battalion (DMFB) of the Southern Police District (SPD) on October 2.
SPD director PCol. Kirby John Brion Kraft is the arrested suspect Christie De Castro Santos aka Kim, 34.
Based on the report received by Kraft, DDEU and DMFB personnel successfully conducted the buy-bust operation around 12:10 midnight at No. 42 Faculty Street, Brgy. Sta. Ana, Taguig City.
Prior to this, the operatives of the DDEU received information about the suspect’s illegal activity and when their surveillance operation was positive, the buy-bust operation was immediately conducted which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
During the operation, four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing more than 75 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱510,000, a red and black pouch and the ₱500 buy-bust money were confiscated from Santos’ possession. used in surgery.
After the operation, Santos was immediately taken to the DDEU office for documentation and disposition while the confiscated suspected shabu was taken to the SPD Forensic Unit to undergo chemical analysis.
Santos is facing charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11 under Art II of RA 9165 which will be filed against him at the Taguig City prosecutor’s office.
According to Kraft, they recognize the support provided by the community in the ongoing operation of the SPD in the fight against illegal drugs.
