More than 3K POGO workers get police clearance

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 3,198 workers of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) obtained police clearance.

This is according to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. this Monday, October 2 in a news conference.

“As of September 27 and 28, an additional 297 POGO workers availed the national police clearance processed by DIDM team, making a total of 3,198 police clearances issued to POGO workers as of October 3,” ani Azurin.

The DIDM or Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management is the unit of the PNP that oversees the national police clearance processing for POGO workers.

Azurin added, their documentation process with POGO workers in collaboration with local government units is also continuing.

Its purpose is to monitor the activities of POGO workers and ensure that they comply with government rules.

As for the POGO workers who are living illegally in the country, they are said to be in the custody of the Bureau of Immigration and are just waiting for their deportation date. RNT/JGC
