MANILA, Philippines- Typhoon Karding has destroyed 58,944 homes in five regions after it hit Luzon last week.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said, of the said number, 51,600 are classified as partially damaged while 7,344 are in the category as totally damaged.
These households are located in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Meanwhile, the number of families affected by typhoon Karding is 299,127 or 1,072,282 individuals in 1,915 barangays in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, and CAR.
Right now, only 806 families or 3,044 people remain staying in 25 evacuation centers while others have returned to their homes or are staying with their relatives or friends.
On the other hand, infrastructure damage in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, Bicol, and CAR reached P304 million pesos.
Damage to agriculture reached P3.05 billion pesos in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, and Cordillera.
The death toll remains at 12 while five are missing and 52 are injured.
